Sept
14, 2010 Program and welcome back BBQ
Great News! The speaker for the September meeting is Mike "Moof"
Mufich. He is the owner of the Humble Fly shop in Cody, Wy. He will
be tying flies at 7:00 pm and talking about fishing the waters in
and around that area at 8:00 pm.
Mike "Moof" Mufich began fly fishing at the age
of four. By the time he was 20, he was "fly fishing crazy" and
started a lengthy trout-bumming career. The last 15 years he has
been trout-bumming or guiding. At the age of 27, he started guiding
for Northfork Anglers in Cody and by the age of 33 he started his
own shop. He’s fished from Argentina to Alaska and when asked about
his fly fishing future, he’ll tell you "I’m just getting warmed up."
His ultimate goal is to end his career the same way he started it,
as a trout bum.
The greatest lessons he received from his grandpa
and dad were on conservation of all things natural, but that nature
had to be used for many things. It can house us, feed us to a point
but more than anything, this incredible resource is there to inspire
us in a way that nothing man made is capable of doing. The last
lesson he learned before he was let alone in the wild, was the point
that wild places should always remain wild and that upon entrance to
these places, we are all charged with it’s protection and well
being.
Programs Now Available On Line
In the
past, we often received requests for copies of our program
presentation slides. No more do we have to copy and email these
presentations. Our program power point presentations are now
available on an online storage site. Programs will be uploaded and
available for download as soon as possible following the meeting.
File sizes can be large, so it may take a few minutes to download,
depending on your connection. Please remember to sign off as soon as
you’re done, since it will only allow one person on at a time. We
hope you enjoy and take advantage of this feature. Lot onto:
