May 6, 2008 Program
The Amazing Spey Rod

Our program for May will be “The Amazing Spey Rod” presented by Lee Davison of Rigby, Idaho, where he and his wife Nancy own a spey rod shop. Nancy and Lee are busy with demonstrations and programs in many different parts of the country. Both are active members of the Rocky Mountain Council of the Federation of Fly Fishers. They will be demonstrating spey rod casting at 6:30pm on the lawn just south of the Rod & Gun Club building. Our regular meeting will begin at 7:30pm.

On Wednesday, May 7th, we will be holding a spey rod session up stream from the Duck Creek Bridge on the Yellowstone at 10am. This is your chance to give the spey rod a try on the river. Contact Hugh Huntley at 652-2261 for details and directions. This is a unique opportunity for our club so don’t miss out on this meeting!

Meeting Information:
Upon arrival at the Billings Rod & Gun Club, members and guests are asked to register their attendance at the check in table, where information on upcoming activities and sign-up lists are available, and the club treasurer is present for the payment of club dues.  Raffle items are available for viewing and tickets can be purchased.  Miscellaneous items like magazines and fly tying materials are also available at the "free stuff" table.

Meetings usually consist of a fly tying demonstration beginning at 7:00 pm, often conducted by the guest speaker for the evening's program, followed by brief club announcements at 7:30 pm and the introduction of the guest speaker for the evening's program. The program concludes @8:30-8:45 pm, immediately followed by the raffle and door prize drawings.  The meeting adjourns @9:00 pm.
